LaKesha B. Shahid earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005, where she was active in the Black Law Students Association and Women’s Law Association and received Best Paper Awards for Professional Responsibility and Current Topics in Criminal Law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Alabama-Birmingham (1999).

Her practice focuses on personal injury, employment discrimination, family law, and estate planning. She has served as a Temporary Judge overseeing involuntary commitment hearings, and was named to the National Board of Litigation Top 100 Lawyers.

LaKesha is active in the Montgomery County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Capital City Bar Association (Recording Secretary), and the Alabama Lawyers Association (Treasurer). She also serves as National Legal Advisor for the National Order of Eastern Star, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Links.

Vania L. Hosea earned her Juris Doctor from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2005, where she was a member of the Trial Competition Team, received the Alabama Circuit Judges’ and Alabama Trial Lawyers Association Scholarship, and earned the Best Paper Award for Legal Research and Writing I. She holds a Bachelor of Arts magna cum laude from Tuskegee University (2001).

After law school, she served as Director of Admissions at Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. Her practice today focuses on Social Security, personal injury, workers’ compensation, family law, and juvenile law.

Vania is active in the Montgomery County Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Alabama Lawyers Association, and serves as President of the Capital City Bar Association. She is a Community Council Board member of the United Way and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
